Alice Echols: Hot Stuff; Disco and the Remaking of American Culture

Although PPBs are not fancy swots, sometimes it’s good to read something, especially if the book is about disco. I just got this fella from the mail and I have to say there’s some promising shit innit. Echols examines disco as a reformer of different identities, eg. hetero/gay masculinity, black/white femininity, etc. I’ve read only about 20 pages though but as I said, it’s looking good.
